Rainforest Foundation Norway (RFN) is one of Europe’s leading organizations in the work to protect the world’s rainforests and strengthen the rights of indigenous peoples, in cooperation with indigenous and environmental organizations in Southeast Asia, Central Africa and the Amazon.
The rising demand for different commodities in the global market poses a significant threat to tropical forests, making this role critical.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct complex assessments and analyses to support RFN’s advocacy and engagement work.
Analyse large datasets on ESG performance, financial exposure, trade flows, and deforestation risk.
Develop corporate risk profiles, portfolio exposure insights, and sector-level analyses.
Build and maintain a database of forest-risk companies to support campaigns and engagement.
Serve as an advanced user of RFN’s CRM system, ensuring data quality and integration of research insights.
Map commodity supply chains and identify leverage points for change.
Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure data accuracy and strategic alignment.
Contribute to improving analytical tools, processes, and communication outputs
Qualifications
Advanced knowledge of data analysis and research methodologies, ideally with experience in forest-risk commodities and supply chains.
Strong ability to synthesize complex information into clear, actionable insights.
Familiarity with ESG indicators, corporate sustainability reporting, and supply-chain due diligence frameworks.
Proficiency in Excel, and data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, or similar).
Experience with CRM systems (Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics, HubSpot) is an asset.
Excellent communication skills and ability to present technical findings to non-technical audiences.
Proficiency in English required; Norwegian and rainforest-country languages are an advantage.
